Doing the job right is more than professional pride.

Remtech Environmental is one of the pioneering companies in residential and commercial environmental services. For over three decades we’ve restored homes, offices, and facilities across North Carolina — mold removal, asbestos abatement, structural drying, water damage repair, and full disaster restoration.

Doing the job right is more than a matter of professional pride. It’s about the health and safety of the families who live in the homes, the staff who work in the offices, and the patients and students who fill the facilities we restore. The procedures aren’t shortcuts. The licensing isn’t aspirational. The documentation gets handed over with the keys.

We’re still family-led, still based in Raleigh, and still measured by the same standard we started with: a job done right is the only way to sleep well at night.

The founder
Bryan King, Owner of Remtech Environmental

Bryan King

Owner & Founder

With an engineering degree from NC State and ten years of environmental industry experience already behind him, Bryan started Remtech Environmental over thirty years ago to build something different — a remediation firm that combined technical rigor with genuine customer education.

The conviction behind that founding choice still shapes the company. When customers understand the problem and the solution, they’re confident in the path forward. That principle drives how we scope every project, document every step, and hand off every report.

Operations, supervision, accounting, and customer experience — the team that’s kept Remtech accountable to its customers and their families for two decades.

Rusty Allen

Rusty Allen

Operations Manager

Rusty keeps the team running smooth and efficient. He oversees project scoping, estimating, and execution, and is often the first impression to the customer. With decades of customer service experience, a teacher's heart, and compassion for tough situations, Rusty is often the customer's guide through the job.

Alex Murillo

Alex Murillo

Supervisor

Alex is possibly the smartest person on the team. Problem solving and production are his top gifts. A senior member with many years on the field, he's the technician you want when a job goes sideways and the original plan needs to change in real time.

Terry Phillips

Terry Phillips

Accounting

Terry has been part of the team for nearly 20 years. In the early years she ran many of the functions of the business herself; that perspective across every facet of operations now lets her make the financial side of every project run smoothly.

Anne King

Anne King

Marketing Director

Anne is often the voice of the customer. She manages the website, reviews, and outreach, and is invested in making customer interactions meaningful — seeking, collecting, and relaying feedback to the team so the next job is better than the last.

What sets us apart

Five things we don’t compromise on.

The differences between an average NC remediation contractor and Remtech come down to a handful of disciplines. Here they are.

01

Response time, measured in minutes.

We operate a 24/7 emergency line. Crews are typically on-site in the Triangle within 30 to 45 minutes of a call, because mold and water damage worsen by the hour. Triad and Asheville response windows are tracked and posted, not promised.

02

In-house technicians, not subcontractors.

Mold, asbestos, water damage, and reconstruction technicians are all on our payroll. Many local competitors subcontract their core remediation work; we keep it under one roof for consistent training, accountability, and quality control on every job.

03

Insurance fluency.

Direct adjuster relationships with every major North Carolina carrier — State Farm, Allstate, USAA, NC Farm Bureau, Erie, Nationwide, Liberty Mutual, Travelers, Auto-Owners. Scope and pricing in Xactimate. Decades of experience handling supplements, depreciation disputes, and large-loss claims.

04

Documentation that holds up.

Every project receives photographic records, moisture and air-quality readings, daily logs, and a final remediation report suitable for insurance, real estate disclosure, and post-loss medical documentation. The report is the deliverable that protects you long after the work is done.

05

Multi-service capability under one roof.

Very few NC contractors are licensed and certified to handle mold remediation, asbestos abatement, water damage, flood restoration, and post-disaster reconstruction. We are. That breadth means one accountable point of contact for the entire restoration — no handoffs, no scope gaps.

Certifications & credentials

The licenses that cover the work.

Our asbestos abatement team is EPA-accredited under the federal Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), and we are licensed by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services as an asbestos abatement contractor under 15A NCAC 19C, the state regulation governing asbestos management. Our inspectors hold AHERA Building Inspector certification — required for any pre-renovation or pre-demolition asbestos survey in NC public buildings, and recommended for residential work.

On the water and mold side, our technicians are certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) in Water Damage Restoration to the S500 standard and in Applied Microbial Remediation to the S520 standard — the two industry-recognized standards governing professional remediation.

We carry full general liability, workers compensation, and environmental pollution liability insurance on every job. Owner Bryan King brings an NC State engineering degree and 30+ years of combined environmental industry experience, applying engineering rigor to scope development, containment design, and clearance verification.

Our history

Three decades, still family-led.

Remtech Environmental was founded over 30 years ago by Bryan King — an NC State engineering graduate with a decade of environmental industry experience and a vision for combining technical rigor with genuine customer education. From a small Raleigh operation focused on residential mold and water damage, the company has grown into one of North Carolina’s most established multi-service environmental remediation firms.

Over two decades we’ve completed thousands of projects — single-room mold remediations, basement water losses, full-scale asbestos abatement on commercial buildings, multi-story flood restorations, and large-loss disaster response. Remtech has traveled as far as Nebraska, Texas, and the Cayman Islands to support major disaster recovery efforts, but our core service area has always been North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

In recent years we’ve expanded our presence in the Triangle, the Triad, and the Asheville and Western North Carolina market, where the aftermath of Hurricane Helene created urgent demand for skilled flood and disaster restoration crews. Today the same family-led leadership, certified technicians, and commitment to doing the job right continue to define how we serve North Carolina.
